At Rockids, we believe that the joy of eating well is something to be learned from the earliest age. Providing healthy, balanced, local meals that respect each child’s individual rhythm is a strong commitment shared by all our teams.

Home-cooked meals designed for little ones

Every day, our head chef and their team prepare over 700 meals, following strict hygiene standards. Our menus, developed in collaboration with a nutritionist, are designed to provide all the nutrients essential for a child’s growth. We prioritise local and seasonal produce to ensure freshness and quality, while awakening children’s taste buds.

  • Meals prepared by our head chef, specialised in early childhood nutrition
  • Fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients, in partnership with Grosbusch
  • Cooked in our central kitchen, ensuring consistent high quality
  • Respect for dietary needs (pork-free, vegetarian) and allergies (PAI)
  • Adaptable and varied menus, validated by a nutritionist

 A progressive food education

Taste education begins with complementary feeding, in close partnership with families. Our teams offer meals in evolving textures, tailored to each child’s development. Respect for the child is at the heart of our approach: first spoonfuls are given in the educator’s arms in a comforting, physiologically supportive position.

  • Gradual food diversification, in collaboration with parents
  • Evolving textures (puréed, finely chopped), suited to developmental stages
  • First meals offered in the educator’s arms for a reassuring experience
  • Self-service and independence for older children in day care centres
  • Introduction to new flavours with seasonal dishes and themed culinary activities

Mealtimes: moments to explore, share and learn

Mealtimes are much more than just food breaks. They are opportunities for communication, enjoyment, socialisation and learning. Children become more autonomous, learn to use cutlery, and discover seasons and cultures through food. Culinary events help them taste Luxembourgish and international dishes, and parents are encouraged to enrich the experience by sharing traditional meals from their culture.

  • Themed menus (national holidays, world recipes)
  • Specialities shared by families in line with hygiene standards
  • Friendly and meaningful exchanges around the table
  • Learning social and group dining norms
  • Awareness of hunger and fullness signals
  • Seasonal awareness through fresh ingredients and sensory-based activities (meal buffets, seasonal tables)

Individualised attention for every child

Our menus reflect individual dietary requirements (e.g. pork-free, vegetarian) and food intolerances (e.g. lactose, peanuts). We work closely with families to ensure each child can eat with peace of mind in an inclusive environment.

  • Weekly menus displayed in all our facilities
  • Regular communication with parents to respect family habits
  • Opportunities for families to share traditional meals on special occasions

At Rockids, eating well means growing up with confidence, independence, and good health.
